Jackson Esmiol: My dog loves his toys, he usually brings them to me though to throw for him so we can play fetch. Do your dogs toys squeak? In my experience dogs love toys that make noise.
Lawana Neemann: My dogs only play with toys if "I" play with with it with them. They WILL bring me a toy in the hope I will play with it with them.Bassetts are not really the type of dog that would be turned on by a toy. They are "hounds" and like to follow a scent rather than play with a toy.Info on the Bassett>>https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=basset+hound+dog...He may be mixed with another breed that is not toy orientated either, so just accept him for what he is....Show more
Ardath Templer: I am so annoyed and have a big dilemma. I am having all sorts of frustrations with my two dogs right now and dont know what to do -- they beg, bark, scat and are dirty. One is a female miniature dachshund about 11 pounds. One is a male dachshund/chihuahua mix about 13 pounds. Both! are black and tan colored. Male has some white on him.1) They beg constantly and even when I tell them to GIT a several times, they come back or they stare at me from across the room or what have you. I can NEVER eat a meal in peace after a long hard days work! If I throw them outside, they cry and scream at the door because its chilly outside. I am at my absolute wits end with this!! I work very hard everyday for 8-11 hours a day at my job and the last thing I want is to come home and deal with two mutts crying, staring and harassing me for my food while their bowl is filled with TWO types of dog food because one is so dang picky she wont eat regular dog food.2) they bark nonstop when put outside and i my sanity is being pushed to the brink. High pitched screech-barking goes on off and on thru the night for NO apparent reason.3) They defecate through the house because they are ridiculous about going outside when its cold. They come to the door crying after urinating a! nd all of the persuading and hollering in the world wont get t! henm to shut up and get their rear ends in the yard to dump. It ends up on my bathroom floor -- at my WITS END.4) my bedding is covered with short black dog hair and almost an oily film after a day. I cant even wash my bedding weekly like most people or biweekly because i cant keep the dogs off my bed and they are grossly disgusting apparently and are oily and shed like crazy. They are short haired and iI feel like I would be better off with a chow chow sometimes! YES THEY ARE BATHED! nothing helps!WHAT CAN I DO. I dont want to get rid of them because they are so needy and I know not many people would tolerate all of their needs and they would end up thrown around from home to home and worse than ever. I dont feel it has been training at all because these are problems I have worked on since day 1 but I am only ONE woman and I cant do it all and juggle a job to feed them and keep a roof over their heads in this economy....Show more
Boyce Gilhooly: 7 years for a d! og is senior age. That's like a 70 year old women playing with toys. Maybe she is too old for them.
Brian Freedland: I never said that I could not afford them, I am simply saying that I am not willing to change jobs either. I love my job, but it tires me out. And I just want to relax when I come home. I also can't be choosy with jobs because of the economy, is what I am saying. I can afford these dogs and then some, its not about money.
Burt Cheevers: Lizzie, I will definitely check that out. :)
Jess Grizzel: It is possible. However don't worry no need to take her for a ultra sound and spend The extra money just watch her and when April 6th comes around put her a blanket somewhere cozy and show her where it is. The mother instinct will kick in she may only be carrying one puppy so that might be why you can not tell. She should have her litter close to the date you have estimated. Check her nipples next week squeeze one if she is producing milk then go! od chances that she will be a mommy. Good Luck!!...Show more
Bud! dy Ardd: 1. They need obedience training. Enroll them in obedience classes. They also need some running, so take them running after you get home from work. It's a great stress reliever. I know. That's what I do.2. Again, lack of training and lack of exercise. 3. Again, obedience classes.4. Close your bedroom door.5. If you don't have time or patience to train and exercise these dogs, then rehoming them is your best option. You aren't tolerating them very well at all, what with you getting all upset. " I am only ONE woman and I cant do it all and juggle a job to feed them and keep a roof over their heads in this economy."Then you should rehome these dogs if you can't care for them. Sorry.
Antonette Shappy: Take the diet to your vet NOW and find out if it is any good. I have some doubts about it.There are several books you can buy on breeding and whelping which also include feeding the pregnant female dog. Be sure to get one that isn't really old (and with out of date! information). Dogwise, www.dogwise.com is where you can find them. These books are extremely handy when the puppies start coming, as they tell you what to do in different situations which you may encounter, and how to tell if a trip to the emergency vet is in order, things every breeder should know....Show more
Madie Strople: I have a 4 month old Lab mix, and she's actually not that fond of toys. She much prefers racing around, and playfully chasing her owners. Although she does love her soft toys, and stuffies. Maybe it's just that we haven't introduced her to very many toys yet. I'm sure it all depends on the dog's own preference.
Galen Gowers: Take her for x-rays. An ultrasound is great if you just want to see puppies. But being able to count and measure the puppy's head width to mom's pelvic region is going to be better done with an x-ray. The reason you want to do this is because it's better to know how many puppies to expect and wether to plan on a ! c-section or not. And since you've rescued her and decided to give her! a better home, just waiting and seeing is not in her best interest. Keep your vet appt. but I would ask for an x-ray instead....Show more
Emilie Santmyer: How about you get some training for them and maybe something to help you de-stress? Petsmart has dog training for $109 (at least in my area). However, some places do it cheaper (where I'm taking my dog it is only $95). Also, get them groomed regularly, this will help with the shedding. And buy a rake/deshedder at a dog store and brush them daily with it to pull out the hair that's not attached to the skin (aka the shedding). And it doesn't seem like they have alot of needs. They're dogs. Some dogs are picky. Why not feed them both the same food that the pick one likes? And maybe crate training? I don't blame them for crying. I wouldn't want to be thrown out into the cold either and I sure as HeII wouldn't want to be yelled at. ON wonder they don't respond to you. You want your dogs to respect you, not fear you.If! you can't afford the dogs, don't keep them. there are plenty of people out there who will give them the proper training, care, love and attention they need if you can't because of "this economy". It sounds like you're too lazy and exhausted to deal with them and you should not have them if you cannot put in the time they require....Show more
Cassey Hollinghurst: First, you need to calm down and breathe. I have a dog that's afraid to poop outside too. He's afraid of everything. So every time he sees someone from the neighborhood near our yard, he goes crazy scratching to get back inside, and pees all over himself in the process. We have to either stand at the screen door and watch him until he poops, or go sit outside until he poops. Sometimes it takes a few minutes, but he'll eventually go, especially if we're out there with him. He also only poops in one place in the house, and during a certain time of day. I find that if I keep a baby gate up, he can't get to his p! oop place and holds it until he can get outside. So, maybe if you shut ! the bathroom door, so they can't poop and pee in there, and stand outside with them, they should go to the bathroom. If that doesn't work, you could line your floor with puppy pads. At least cleanup would be easier. You could also try crate training them. That way they wouldn't use the bathroom while you were at work.I'm not sure what to do about the barking. Maybe they won't bark as bad if you are out there with them? Or try a humane bark collar. They sell them at petsmart, or you could order them. What happens is they have the bark collar on, and they bark, and after a warning beep, it sprays water or something at them. It doesn't hurt them, and it teaches them not to bark.As for the bed, don't allow them on the bed anymore. Keep your door shut during the day, and keep making them get off the bed when you're sleeping in it. Certain types of dogs have more oily coats than others. If they won't stay off the bed while you're trying to sleep, put their beds in another room an! d shut them up in there. They may cry for a few nights, but eventually they'll be fine sleeping in there. After a while you could try letting them back in your room and see if they stay off the bed. But moving them may have to be permanent. Do you ever give them pieces of your food? My dogs used to stare at us while we were eating, and my husband ALWAYS put aside pieces of his food for them. When he was done eating he would give them their pieces. I never did that. So they NEVER stared at me expecting food. Now my husband doesn't give them food anymore, so they don't stare anymore expecting food. So, if you are giving them anything, even if its just a tiny tidbit, stop. If they are still staring at you, then just ignore it. If it makes you uncomfortable, go into another room while you eat. Also, my dog won't go outside sometimes too, because he's scared. I usually have to step out to get him to go out. If that doesn't work, I call my other dog (who is already outside because! she's not afraid of anything) and I talk to her and pet her. He think'! s he's missing out so he comes running out. He weighs 60 lbs, though, so I can't carry him out. But you can pick up your dogs and put them out, because they're small. And if you set a timer, and put them out every 2 hours and make sure they go, then they should stop going in the house and go outside. Sometimes when they get into the habit of going inside they have to be re-trained to go outside. And maybe you could try yelling at them a little less. It's obviously not helping and is a waste of energy for you.Hope this helps!
Sharie Sommerville: the vets is always a good option but tell tale signs are if she expresses milk, if she seems uncomfortable she will start to nest (try and shed stuff to nest) and she may seem distant to want time to herself and she may not sleep much, but good luck anyhow
Leann Villalta: Obviously you are not capable of owning two dogs.. Please do the dogs a favor; re-home them to a family who can actually take the time out to train them ! properly. You need to be willing to put the effort, time, and energy into training these dogs. You have only yourself to blame for their behavior quite honestly.
Mikel Bethay: Training, google how to train for each problem
Percy Seiger: My female boxer is suppose to have puppies around April 8th but we are still not 100% sure if she is pregnant. She has gained a lot of weight but that may be b/c we adopted her and she is eating better now. She is in a warm cozy environment compared to where she was. She has had the hiccups a few times in the last week. Im just wondering if that is a sign. Her nipples are red and big but I know she had a litter before. Im just not sure if she is pregnant. Im told she did have a 20 minute tie. Thanks in advance. Im trying to reasearch this all I can. Any advice would be greatly appreciated....Show more
Keneth Mailhot: It can be almost impossible to tell, until about this close before the pups arrive. If she is pregnant, you s! hould be able to feel the pups moving around now, in the last two weeks! of her pregnancy. Watch her carefully when she is lying on her side as you may notice the pups wiggling.People may tell you that you should be able to express milk from her if she is pregnant - not necessarily true. Her mammary glands may not swell hugely until just before she has the pups, and she may not produce any milk that you would notice before giving birth.Ultrasound is a good idea - but by now your vet should be able to feel if there are pups present, too - unless your dog is extremely muscley, in which case she might just keep you guessing!Be prepared, get a good book out on whelping and puppy care - and don't be afraid to ask your vet for advice....Show more
Bianca Lannier: I recognize this sounds terrible. But have her spayed ASAP. If she is pregnant, out of the ones stipulations there's a amazing hazard that each she and the doggies might be very ill, and can even die. If she isn't pregnant then no person will get harm. You could have her spayed and he! r photographs boosted while. Spaying her now might shop her lifestyles... Honestly, it does now not sound like a being pregnant that's very some distance alongside, if there may be one in any respect...however I might now not wait per week extra to spay her. It is much more likely that she has an illness (additionally lifestyles threatening) or inside parasites. Either means, spaying her might shop her, I don't feel you'll be able to shop the doggies, they in no way had a hazard in a position like that! PM me when you might like extra aid....Show more
Marcellus Yoshimori: All of my Cattle Dogs have been very much into toys and played with them even when older. Stuffed toys are their favorite and they've all seemed to learn that they are more fun stuffed, so they've been good about leaving them intact. They also love balls, frisbees, tug toys and one of my puppy's favorite outside toys is a toy rubber tire that is from two dogs ago. Not all dogs are into toys, though.
Tawny Grosskreutz: One of my dogs has never played with toys and ! like yours looks at me like I am crazy when I throw a toy and tell her to fetch, she does however like her toys and uses her toy box as a bed! lol!My other dog loves playing with toys but only by herself, she throws them around, shakes them and has a blast by herself only.My youngest pup loves toys and loves playing fetch....Show more
Scot Sepulbeda: you can send your dogs to obedience school ! its only for a few hours a week, but believe me it works, it is worth the money, my neighbors had a black lab that was bad and constantly barked and chased people and begged and ran away, but now it is one of the most behaved dogs i have seen .and about the hair, i have a short hair chihuahua and i go to the vet and get shampoo for short hair dogs to reduce shedding, it works miracles.

Continuing with a scrambled egg daily.By October 18th she will be on her normal food completely (still as much as she wants to eat), and no more eggs. She will be going to the vet for her check ups as well and I will confirm by diet plan with the vet as well but wanted to at least present a good plan to the vet and get their advice and opinion. Donovan Stallons: seems your dogs a little spoiled but thats ok because your dogs sounds like my dogs, I have a 5month old yorkipoo and a 10 month yorkie mixed with something, anyway I ! was like you at my wits ends, my ten month old is so greedy it ticks me! off, he would eat his food and turn around and beg and stare at me for my food but I put my foot down, I just ignore them when they look in my face for food it may not be easy at first but give it a couple of try's and you'll be okay, just think of it like this if your feeding them food and water and you provide for them toys and bedding what more can they want, you have to have a take it or leave attitude, if they don't eat the food in the bowl in ten minutes oh well, maybe the next day they will appreciate it and as far as pooping in the house, get some crates and keep each one inside until you come home from work take one out at a time so they don't confuse poop time for play time and if they don't poop outside then back in the kennel they go, eventually nature will win.
Kara Tabian: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/breedingpregnancyguide...This is the website I looked at.
Georgina Natal: At this point you should be able to feel the puppies if she is pregnant. G! et down next to her and gently put your hand on her belly, apply gentle pressure, and see if you feel anything. If you do, she's pregnant, if not, she might not be. Good luck!
Antwan Schrum: Sources would be greatly appreciated. :)
Marna Liddie: only frisbees
Becky Mosena: Don't bother with the ultrasound.. even if it does tell you there are pups, it is NOT accurate for number or size. At this point, you wait until day 57 from breeding and do an x-ray which will definitively tell you whether there are pups AS WELL AS the number of pups, the size (good to know if they look a bit too biggish and may need a c-section) and the degree of calcification (an experienced reproductive vet can tell you based on calicification about when the pups should arrive- I had a great vet who was accurate w/in a 24 hour window)....Show more
Marjory Stromme: An ultra-sound can be done as early as 3 wks to confirm a pregnancy. If you calculate her being due April 8th, sk! ip the ultra-sound and get an x-ray instead to get a better head count.! Ultra-sound is not a good way to get a head count. If there was a tie...she is more than likely pergnant.
Cody Petrulis: It really just depends on the preference of the individual animal. Mine will take sticks, tennis balls, and empty water bottles over food sometimes. She pays no attention to most other toys now.
Toney Flaten: Lindsey,When our family dog was a puppy, she stopped playing with toys (any kind of toys) after her chewing phase was over.Puppy teeth ==> adult teeth ==> no more toysMy mother wasted over 50USD on more toys before she finally admitted to herself that toys were no longer of any interest to her overgrown puppy.I think my mother was so determined because our previous dog (same breed) was a toy-chewing dog until his dying day. Just goes to show you that dogs truly do have their own unique personalities. So, nothing wrong with your dog. I would say this will save you some money, but as a dog person who spoils the family dog shamelessly, I am p! retty sure you will just spend the money on your dog in other areas. ;)I wish you happy and safe holidays!...Show more
Christy Tirabassi: Typical puppy food is not good for your dog
Kellie Waycott: Get professional training. Most people think training is for the dogs, but it's also for the owners. They can teach you techniques to make the dogs do what you want.
Jesse Japak: You can have a successful ultrasound reading from around 18 - 22 days of pregnancy, though accuracy grows with later ultrasounds. Never heard of waiting until 56 days for the first one - later additional ultrasounds and x-rays are usually so that the vet can determine the size and number of puppies rather than just establish pregnancy.By this stage, the vet (even you, if you're very gentle) should actually be able to feel the puppies inside the uterus. A false pregnancy is possible - all the usual signs of pregnany will be there, except the pups.Sounds like you really need to consult yo! ur vet about this, handling a whelping, and rearing a litter....Show mo! re

Garrett Detone: 1) Buy a crate for meal times. My dogs stare at me and I have no problem with it, I simply ignore them. Dogs will always beg for human food, it's just what they do.2) Maybe they need out to go to the bathroom. Dachshunds are barkers. It's the breed.3) If you notice it's been a while since they've been out to potty, take them out and WALK THEM. Or if they're sniffing around. No matter how cold it is, the dog will eventua! lly go. You just have to be patient.4) Don't allow them on the bed. Keep the door closed and put them in a crate at night time. And bathing actually makes shedding worse try bathing less. If they stink, you can use sprays. If you put them in a shelter, they would be snapped up quick. Dachshunds are a popular breed. Believe it or not, many people would be willing for such a sweet, inquisitive little dog. Many people are in the same situation as you, and handle the situation just fine. I suggest, if you are not willing to sign them up for obedience classes, you give them up to someone who will care for them properly.
Marquetta Gimm: I would take her to the vet to be 100% sure, however we bred our lab and she had a 'false' pregnancy she was huge and was nesting and then no puppies haha! The vet said it can happen especially with the first breeding...they said also that if they go OVER their due date then they probably are not, since they RARELY go over...hope this helps!!
Elissa Curlin: i'm undecided relating to the regulations or if t! here are any, yet a dogs ought to be in warmth to be pregnant. How previous grow to be the different dogs and grow to be she even in warmth? i do no longer think of you may could pay for the dogs to get spayed. Chet Nozick: My old dog wouldnt really play with toys Sometimes ..but not really
Fannie Collingwood: "not many people would tolerate all of their needs"You're right, most people would TRAIN their dogs.1)Buy a baby gate or a crate. When you are eating, put them in it.IGNORE their whining/screaming/barking/whatever you call it, if they start that while in their crates. Giving them any attention whatsoever is basically saying "you win" to them. Attention is attention, no matter negative or positive. Also, buy ONE brand o! f dog food and stick with it. Put the food down for 15 minutes each morning, and if the dog doesn't "like it" then too bad. After 15 minutes, if the food isn't gone take it away.Put more food down in the afternoon/evening again, only for 15 minutes. They will LEARN to eat what YOU want them to, WHEN you want them to.2)I'd be contacting a local trainer, or buying a bark collar by that point.3)Go outside with them. MAKE them go into the yard. Also, take them for walks. If you can't be bothered to take them for a walk then maybe they should be going to a different home.If they're really *that* cold, try one of those sweaters for them. And again, when you're not home put them in the crate. That way they don't even get the chance to defecate in the house.4)Crate them at night too.Or shut the door to your room. The oily film sounds a bit odd and may be worth a trip to the groomer or vet to see what's going on with that.A lot of these behaviours do sound like a lack of physical exerc! ise and training. Just because they're small doesn't mean they're fine ! just sitting in the house all day.
Marya Fehn: My rescue lab mix does not play with toys. He won't fetch, either. He does enjoy stuffed kongs, but only for the food inside. : (
