Whats the difference between Christian and Atheist Weddings?

William Vickerman: Often, nothing. Many weddings are secular, especially the rather bland (I feel) registry weddings that are getting more and more popular.I wouldn't mind a church wedding. Theists call me a hypocrite for this but I think my wife would want a church and a white dress and the traditional thing and who am I to deny her?...Show more

Georgianna Zollo: Christian weddings more often end in a divorce. Atheists have a lower divorce rate. Yes, really.

Blair Abdi: the atheist one is where everyone is having fun.....very easy to spot..

Ulysses Failey: One has the hope of God to keep them together and guide their lives and to be together forever in Heaven.

Lourie Mcroberts: Justice of the Peace and no where near a church. Just the way I'd want it.

Forest Duttinger: There are no "atheist" weddings, just secular ones. Usually they are performed by a justice of the peace at a government facility. They purge any mention of religion or deities! .

Nelly Kikuchi: I had a secular wedding that was written by my husband and myself with suggestions from the celebrant who performed the service. It was similar to most weddings in the vows minus the references to god and marriage being about sanctifying our relationship according to the wishes of such. The focus more on our promise and commitment to each other minus religious beliefs. Secular weddings can vary according to the wishes of the people getting married.
