If education is the key to the future?

Delphine Cajka: NPR just did a report on this a few weeks ago. Stanford University did a course online that was free, and it was available to people around the world. They're doing it in part to find the best students from around the world. If they like their online course work, they'll be offering the student free tuition. There's also some guy who's trying to do this, but for the purpose of getting a complete education for anyone.I think that's the story. Search for on the NPR website.I think things like this are a great idea. You can never go wrong with an education, no matter what you end up doing in your life. Todd Stogner: I could see it as possible but it would backfire. Colleges do so well because they have money as they compete for it. Take away the competition you get mediocre education as that is what the school system is. It's an assembly line that kids! are on and they don't really do much to help you learn. Don't get me wrong that's acceptable when your dealing with a standard education like the ones your getting at K-12 education but it won't work well with college. Just make it easier for promising people to get scholarships and grants instead of making it so hard for them and that will make things better....Show more
