Why did my world of warcraft account get banned for exploitation i didn't even participate in?

Jade Ohno: Bottom line, i got 100% banned.

Erin Arron: 1

Ulysses Failey: As many others have said, account sharing IS against the rules. Chances are that your friend tried to log into the account at the same time you were on or they noticed some very quick IP hopping. To answer the question about add-ons on two different computers... my husband and I both play WoW and occasionally (usually bc my computer is messing up) I will log into my account on his computer. We do not have the same add-ons and we have never been banned because of me hopping onto his PC with my account. I would recommend having your friend call and say he was hacked to see if he can retrieve the account, otherwise he will have to buy a whole new version of the game (and TBC if he has it) in addition to paying for the subscription....Show more

Brittanie Zakutney: Normally my answer would be to ask if you had ever been involved in purchasing in-game gold for real money through the game.! But since you've said that you logged on to find that several items were missing from your account I'm inclined to say that you were hacked. usually what this means is that there's a program on your PC that was probably put in place by something else that you were trying to do. Keylogger as someone else said is the most likely, however there are other methods. My suggestions are to first scan your PC for any 'shady' programs. My personal favorite for this is Lavasoft's Adaware program, but there are several you can choose from. Run the scan, it'll pick out any programs on your PC it deems to be harmful, after you've deleted those and you're sure your PC is clean, contact blizzard and explain your situation to them. It will take them a few days but chances are they'll work with you and restore your account.Hope that helps, and good luck :)...Show more

Cherlyn Tefera: Your account got hacked plain and simple, most likely by way of a key logger. Contact Blizzard c! ustomer support, explain your situation, and they should be ab! le to recover everything. A similar thing happened to my brother and he got everything of his back within three days and he had his epic gear vendored, one character moved to a different server, all of his gold taken, and much of his stuff up for auction across three level 70s.EDIT:As long as you can still give them a phone call or e-mail you should be fine. My brother already had legitimate strikes on his account, got warned, and then full on banned as well but was still able to recover his account. I can't say for sure since I'm not a Blizzard employee but I would assume you can get your account back because this is the general scenario that plays out when people get hacked. I mean they have to shut down the account based on its activity because until you complain there's no way of them really knowing it's not you breaking the ToS in some way or another. If you don't get it back then they've probably decided that there's compelling evidence that the infractions incur! red on your account were either directly executed by you or willingly done on your behalf such as power leveling or gold farming services. I'm not sure how they would determine that though....Show more

Ardell Luy: yeah like the first guy said, try to contact blizzard about it. it was probably sum1 who, as said, is a pro hacker. same thing happened to me with my guy on runescape, when it wasn't completely lame. he changed everything on my account and got it banned. but talk to blizzard about it, and if nothing happens, you should file a complaint, cause it shouldnt b hacked. listen to Nyhm's song, My Name Is Nyhm, when he says he got hacked. he didnt, trust me, but still good luck on getting your account back....Show more

Gladys Worthing: List exact phone number or email of where i can contact Blizzard about this specific problem. Please.
