Sena Highman: They want the authority of public school teachers to back up their lies.
Shelley Stevens: i suspect they get upset that science class teaches things that don't conform to their religious preconceptions. lots of christians have no problem with the concept of evolution; not sure the statistics but a significant number believe evolution to be true. i seriously worry about the mental state of those that continue to deny it in face of the rather overwhelming evidence....Show more
Keven Drumgole: Because they're retarded.
Jonathan Schlussel: I was taught both in my school! Evolution in biology and Creationism in religious studies. I think both of them should be taught and there should be a choice to take biology or religious studies.
Cliff Jacoby: Because they forget that once the door is opened to teach christian creationism, then schools will also be obliged to teach Hindu creationism, Aboriginal creationism, and so on.
Lawana Neema! nn: Religion shouldn't be taught in public schools anyway, that's what Private Christian/ Catholic, Muslim schools are for.
Jules Ashbach: It should be taught in school, but to be fair they should teach many different versions of it. so that the religious would then be able to compare how rediculous they are. in the uk they teach religious educaion in school and cover many different types of religions, and because of that thhe uk has one of the highest portions of atheist-non religious populations in the world...Show more
Samara Siewers: So they can make a choice. Either Darwinism or God. That's not hard to understand. Why should they only teach Darwinism? We pay the taxes for the schools, why should we not have the same choice?
Hal Palowoda: For the same reason people want to teach evolution in school.
Arlen Decorte: Because they want to stunt progress as much as they can so they try to inject worthless drivel into the school system. They realized t! hat the more kids read on science the less they believe in the! babble.
Randolph Lozoya: Partly because they do not understand that there is more than one religion and that other religions have their own creation stories. When they insist that "both sides" should be taught, they are showing how egocentric they are, for there are more than two views on how the universe began. If they got their way and Creationism was taught then ALL religious views on the topic must also be taught. Do they really want that? And because they fail to understand that religious studies is not a science while evolution and the big bang theory do belong to the realm of science. Plus, they fear that if the government does not back up their religious beliefs, their own children may not believe the stories they tell them. And they want to preach to everyone else's kids too, not just their own.~Ex-fundie-xian; agnostic atheist...Show more
Julee Lanham: I was taught all the theories of how we came to be at my Christian school. Creationists just think t! hat people should learn everything. If they did this in schools as a theory then people could make up their own minds. It seems so unimaginative to me and close minded that people just write off creationism as dumb because they haven't heard it relayed/taught to them correctly or they are too busy talking to listen.Stop being defensive. Open your ears and listen and then give me you educated opinion! ...Show more
Floy Fague: Don't forget the private schools. Ask them if we can teach evolution at their church.
Mahalia Brindle: Creationists are too dumb to teach anything else - like basic addition, or personal hygiene. And they are so tired of flipping burgers all day long.
