Gale Hartt: Id avoid a laptop if it's going to be used predominately at home. Laptops run very hot and without supplemental cooling have a very short lifespan by comparison to a pc. Net tops are the smallest, but require an external DVD/ Blu-ray drive ( the vast majority at least) and with the exception of the new dual core Hudson H1, tend to be pretty pokey. All in one computers are very expensive but a traditional mini tower can be less than $500.00 for a decent model.
